“Music and the Movies” is an entertaining and informative program featuring memorable songs and interesting stories from classic Hollywood films such as Casablanca, Swing Time, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Brigadoon, Singin’ in the Rain and many more. Makes for a perfect afternoon program for libraries, senior groups or anyone who loves movies and musicals.

The program features talented vocalist Eileen Burns and her jazz combo comprised of excellent professional jazz musicians. Miss Burns’ performing credits include a year traveling around the world as the female vocalist for the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra and five years as the female host/singer with the long-running Midnight Martini Show. Her full bio and links to YouTube videos can be found here.

“Each year the Friends of the Beachwood Library look for a special program for Mother’s Day and this year we outdid ourselves by inviting the very talented Eileen Burns and her band. They perform a selection of favorite songs from the movies and preface each with some fun facts regarding the music. Eileen’s wonderful voice is accompanied by her musically accomplished fellow performers. Her program is a fantastic way to enjoy an afternoon.”

Hedy Westra, Friends of the Beachwood Library

Standard program is one hour with 4 performers (jazz trio + vocalist, please note this is not the full 6-piece Roxy band). There is also a longer, one and a half hour version of the show if desired. For booking, contact Eileen at eburns4321@gmail.com.
